Zoosystema

Zoosystema is a fast-track and peer-reviewed journal, devoted to the inventory, analysis and interpretation of animal biodiversity. It publishes, in French or English, original results of zoological research, particularly in systematics and related fields: comparative, functional and evolutionary morphology, phylogeny, biogeography, taxonomy and nomenclature, etc. All articles published in Zoosystema are compliant with the different nomenclatural codes (ICZN, ICN) and with the CRediTs initiative.

Starting in 2026, articles published in Zoosystema are distributed under a CC-BY 4.0 license.

All Zoosystema articles are made freely and immediately available in PDF to readers on the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle website, with no charges to authors for publication (Diamond Open Access). The enhanced journal is distributed by BioOne®, in full-text searchable XML as part of the aggregation BioOne Complete. Archiving and preservation are provided via Portico and LOCKSS.

Zoosystema continues as from 1997 the Bulletin du Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, 4ème série, section A, Zoologie. From 2018, Zoosystema is published online only with a continuous flow of publication (fast-track).
