Geodiversitas

Geodiversitas is a fast-track and peer-reviewed journal, devoted to varied aspects of earth sciences. It publishes original research results, in French or English, with emphasis on history of sedimentary basins, paleobiodiversity and paleoenvironments. An issue of Geodiversitas may be devoted to a single topic under the responsibility of guest editor(s) (thematic issues of Geodiversitas). All articles published in Geodiversitas are compliant with the different nomenclatural codes (ICZN, ICN) and with the CRediTs initiative.

Starting in 2026, articles published in Geodiversitas are distributed under a CC-BY 4.0 license.

All Geodiversitas articles are made freely and immediately available in PDF to readers on the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle website, with no charges to authors for publication (Diamond Open Access). The enhanced journal is distributed by BioOne® in full-text searchable XML as part of the aggregation BioOne Complete. Archiving and preservation are provided via Portico and LOCKSS.

Printed issues are still available using the form on the right of this page.

Research datasets corresponding to articles published in Geodiversitas can be uploaded online, with the help of the editorial staff, on the https://data.indores.fr/ portail (details in the journal's guidelines)


Geodiversitas continues as from 1997 the Bulletin du Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, 4ème série – section C : Sciences de la Terre, Paléontologie, Géologie, Minéralogie. From 2018, Geodiversitas is published online only with a continuous flow of publication (fast-track).
